MARCH 31, 2005- With Spring just around the corner, Gen Art ( http://www.GenArt.org) has outdone themselves again by bringing a spectacular fashion event to Chicago. As you may or may not know, Gen Art is also responsible for the prestigious Fresh Faces in Fashion. Which is, in my opinion, the best fashion show is Chicago.

Set in the newly renovated River East Art Center (435 E. Illinois), designers and boutiques had the opportunity to sell their merchandise to guests who were admitted at no charge. Oh, and did they sell! This event was packed with fashionistas who were eager to purchase some of the most cutting edge fashions, jewelry, shoes, hats, you name it. Guests made their way through the crowd, sipping complimentary cocktails with Boru Vodka or Beck’s Premium Light beer, and enjoying hors d'oeuvres by Pili Pili.

And that’s not all: the event also featured pampering by Chicago ’s Beauty On Call ( http://www.BeautyOnCall.com), such a makeovers and massages. Hair consultations and touch-ups were also given by Michael and Michael Salon ( http://www.MichaelAndMichael.com/), as well as styling consultations by Marlisa Sailer ( http://www.MarlisaSailer.com).

Participating designers included Doris Ruth, Double-Stitch, Lara Miller, Sarah McGuire and the Vintage Gypsy. Some boutiques in attendance were Calvin Tran, G Boutique, Ms. Catwalk, NYLA, and The Denim Lounge. Check out the Gen Art website to view a full list.

If you missed this event, don’t worry. Shop CHICago will visit us again this August!
